Capitol Hill in Salt Lake City gets its name from the Utah State Capital as the name would suggest. Capitol Hill is located to the north of Downtown Salt Lake at an elevated location giving it spectacular views of the downtown area. The entire Salt Lake metropolitan area is impressively seen from Capitol Hill. State Street, a road which runs through the whole state as Highway 89, leads up to Capitol Hill. The West sloping side of the hill is called "Marmalade Hill"also known as the Marmalade district. The streets within the district are all named after fruit trees used to make marmalade jam. Marmalade district is considered one of the most architecturally diverse neighborhoods in Utah
The neighborhoods of Capitol Hill and Marmalade enjoy easy access to downtown Salt Lake, spectacular views and a lot of personality.
Homes within this area start in the low $200,000's and move up from there. There are also several condominiums to choose from starting the low $100,000's.
Just to the east of Capitol Hill is The Avenues.
